The conviction of innocent people is a gross injustice done to those wrongly accused. The publication of various cases in which innocent people have been convicted raises a wide range of questions concerning the balances, controls and legal and organizational mechanisms that exist in the world of the law enforcement system that are there to prevent precisely such wrongful convictions. The book before us examines the various aspects that accompany the operation of law enforcement on its way to the undesirable result of false convictions. 

The book is divided into three main sections, the first dealing with the organizational and forensic aspects in the study of legal truth, the second with the psychological aspects of law enforcement and the third presents aspects from the investigation of truth.
